Project: build with 3D models and rendered in a 2D animation style

Base: Nuo culture----Nuo opera is a Chinese oldest dance form, in which people worship the gods, expel the epidemic, and pray for peace. In ancient times, due to the underdeveloped science, technology and medical care system, when people encountered insurmountable difficulties, diseases or disasters, they sought refuge in ghosts and gods. It was believed that people could establish contact with ghosts and gods through Nuo Opera to convey their wishes and seek psychological comfort. In modern times, the rapid advancements in science and technology have made it possible to solve most problems and difficulties. Therefore, the culture of Nuo has gradually been abandoned. Through this project, we can break through the limitations of time and space in the form of animation to reveal its mystery and charm once again.

Script:

Scene 1 (Little Girl's Room): A little girl lies in bed. She is ill (with fever) and having a dream.

Scene 2 (in the dream, Bamboo Forest, Stone Steps, Ancient Temple): In her dream, the little girl is in a misty bamboo forest. When she looks around, she spots a glimmer of light. Searching for the light, she discovers a row of steps. Along with the steps, she comes to an ancient temple.

Scene 3 (Inside the Ancient Temple): Entering the ancient temple, at the center of the temple stands an ancient tree, with many red ribbons (for blessings) hanging on it. On both sides is a long corridor, with lanterns hung. Moving forward, she comes to the door of the main hall, which gradually opens.

Scene 4 (Inside the Hall): There are many masks hanging in the hall, and many tangled red lines. A woman wearing what looked like a wizard's mask stood in the center of the hall. Suddenly, the candles in the hall light up, accompanied by music from an unknown place. The woman wearing the mask dances to the music. The dance is strange and mysterious. When the dance is about to end, a run-off sheet suddenly appears in her hands. She throws the sheet into the air, and the sheet spontaneously burns. Then it turns into ashes and falls into her hands. She comes to the little girl and blows the ashes towards her. The little girl closes her eyes.

Back to Scene 1 (Little Girl's Room): The little girl opens her eyes and finds her mother sitting on the edge of her bed. She bends down to check the little girl's temperature against her forehead. The temperature has returned to normal, and then she comforts the little girl to sleep. The camera zooms out to focus on the desk next to the bed. There is a mask exactly like the one in the little girl's dream.
